This cocktail combines bourbon and sweet vermouth to produce a slightly bitter and herbal taste.

  • Bourbon 2 oz
  • Sweet vermouth 1 oz
  • Angostura bitters 2 dashes
  • Maraschino cherry 1

No shaker necessary. Build this one and just give it a stir.

Add the bourbon and sweet vermouth into a lowball with ice. Follow this up with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

Garnish with a Maraschino cherry.

You can also shake this cocktail and serve it straight up (no ice in a cocktail glass).


Substitute the bourbon with rye or Canadian whiskey for some variation.
